SINCE
|
|
A. |
God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in relationship; man and woman,
created in His image and likeness, are designed by God to come together in
deep and intimate love. (Genesis 1:27) |
|
B. |
The gift of couple love is a reflection of God's love, which, when lived
out in its fullness, leads man and woman to strive for the fulfillment
which is unity. (Genesis 2:24) |
|
C. |
God wants couples to be
- One in mind,
- One in heart,
- One in affection.
|
|
D. |
In God's plan, married couples are to grow in closeness to one another
and to Him in their years together, reconciling, loving, healing, and
worshiping. It is this movement toward unity that will bring them joy and
happiness |
|
E. |
God is so invested in couple love that this special relationship has
been chosen by Him to be an illustration of the relationship between
Christ and the church (Ephesians 5). God cares how we live as married
couples. |
THEREFORE
|
|
We, the Reformed Expression of Worldwide Marriage Encounter, have been so inspired by the beauty of the love of man
and woman in marriage, that, in response to God and in the context of the
reformed Church, we dedicate ourselves to assist all couples in living a
joy-filled and happy marriage. |
|
We do this by:
- providing the Reformed Weekend Experience.
- providing a support community for dialogue and growth.
- sharing our marriage values in every way we can.
|
|
It is through awakening in couples an awareness
of the gift they have as "Christians in Marriage" that we will
assist in strengthening and renewing our churches and join in Christ's
work of changing the world. |
